Morningside Community School in Pittsfield, Massachusetts has been apart of an unique, hands-on film making project. Led by collaborators at Berkshire Film and Media Collaborative, students were given the opportunity to produce a documentary film, which focused on the lives of local teachers, politicians and artists in Pittsfield. In the project, students learned various aspects of film production, including script writing, shooting, and make-up artistry. The program aims to foster creativity, teamwork and technical skills while given students a platform to express their stories. The students hope their film may cultivate pride in their city, and shed light on the sometimes overlooked hardworking people in their community.
